Stacking The Shelves #111 & Sunday Post #75

I am combining two great blog hops:  Stacking The Shelves (a Saturday feature by Team Tynga's Reviews), and Sunday Post (a Sunday feature by the Caffeinated Book Reviewer).  Both of these features give people a chance to post about what books they received and also an opportunity to catch a glimpse of what others are excited about.  I really enjoy see everyone's version of these features! If you enjoy my blog, please consider following me via Bloglovin, Networked Blogs, GFC, or by email subscription.  If you leave a comment and tell me you are a new follower, I will follow you back!

I am participating in the Amazon affiliate program, so if you click on any of the book covers it will take you to Amazon if you want to buy the book.  I will be getting a small fee for each purchase.

On The Blog:
Ugh!  I only did one post this week, my weekly listing of all the book events in the Bay Area.  I WILL get many posts written this weekend, I swear it.

In "Real Life":

I have been reading, staying up too late (reading), and then being sleepy during the day.   I did get to go to a really fun book event at my favorite bookstore, A Great Good Place For Books, in Oakland, California.  The inspiring Marie Lu was there to talk about her new book, Batman:  Nightwalker.  The place was packed with people, but since it is such a small store, events there take on a feeling of a small, intimate party.

    1. I'm glad you got to meet her! She was really nice to me and my daughter. Jenny is halfway through reading the Batman book, and then I'll get a crack at it. Have a good week and stay warm.

  2. Such a great haul! I've been seeing Batman at the bookstore but haven't been able to buy it yet and I've heard some good things about Warcross as well. :)

    Happy Reading!

    1. I really liked Warcross, having listened to the audio book version. But I want my husband and my daughter to read it, so I bought a copy while I was at the book signing. The technology in it is so fun! Thanks for stopping by.

  3. A lovely haul. Batman does intrigue me, but I'm not sure it's my sort of book!

    1. I loved the Wonder Woman origins book by Leigh Bardugo, and I am hopeful this is just as good. Marie Lu is one of my favorite authors. She does very well with dystopian settings, and has a knack for creating fun tech. in her novels, as well. I think she is the perfect choice for this subject.

    1. Thank you, Barb. I enjoy going to these events and hearing how the authors get inspired. I hope to write a book myself, and these events are very motivating.

    1. Warcross is a really fun novel. It is also ready-made for a movie version. I hope that can happen. Marie didn't say whether or not it had been optioned. But her Legion series has! That one shoudl also make for great visual magic.

  6. Nice list of book events! And I always like it too when a large event still manages to feel smallish.

    I really liked Warcross. :)
